I know this will come as no surprise that even as a young toddler I had a phone on my shoulder. I'm not sure that I answered "29 Grove Street how may I direct your call ?" but it looks like my laugh could be heard over the phone lines even at that age. I've always loved this photo...for many reasons.

Growing up in an era prior to cell phones and having a father as a doctor, we learned to answer the phone properly and politely or we lost our phone privileges. I think it may have been for my 16th birthday that I received my own Slimline phone extension. I was so excited !! I'm sure I'm dating myself with that one. I mean today many homes don't even have a home phone. I can't go that far.
I did transition to a cell phone eventually which has led to some conference calls in some very interesting places, especially when trying to balance work and vacation time. I can't find all the photo proof but this one was at the Toronto zoo.

I've been on a payphone next to some pot bellied pigs, poolside in Mexico, in a plaza in Milan and one of my all time favorites in a field of cows on a hill top in Texas trying to maintain my cell reception.
Can't imagine what I'll be communicating on and from where throughout the next 50 years !
I can attest to the calls in random places...I was a witness at both the zoo and the pasture / hilltop.
