Trivia Tuesday ... on Wednesday

Yesterday's blog was hijacked by the events of the day, so I'm going to do some travel trivia today.

1. I traveled through Europe with some of my classmates after finishing my MBA. The World Cup was hosted in Italy that year, so although I couldn't speak the language I could cheer for the appropriate soccer team (non-verbal communications at its best).  While in Florence we were walking down a side street and all of the sudden we heard Pavarotti.  The Three Tenors had an upcoming concert so we assumed it was a promotional track, imagine our surprise when we turned the corner and the promotional event was live - it was Pavarotti himself.  Incredible.

2. For the last several years I have travelled with friends to Mexico to seek sun & warmth amidst the winter season.  We enjoy our downtime with games of Scrabble, getting caught up on our reading, and margaritas at the swim-up bar.  This year we had front row seats to the interesting mating habits of iguanas, and let's just say we opted for non-green swimsuits to avoid their affections ;-)

Austin - summer vacation
3. Many summers we have coordinated family holidays with as many family members that can make it.  We have rented cabins or houses in Texas, Missouri, Florida and Killarney, Ontario. Key criteria for our vacations spots are a water feature - (lake or pool) and golf courses nearby.  Last year we used a timer to take this shot. Unfortunately Brandon couldn't make it, but here's an additional shot to prove he loves the water !

4. Next trips;  Texas in August and then Paris in September with my mom & sister :-)
